Friends/Resources

Marketing an independent book requires friends and partners.  These folks have helped along the way:

Jmars Ink — Independent publisher out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Diverse, indie book offerings. Check out the Bonnie Pinkwater series by Robert Spiller. Who knew that high school math teachers could encounter such adventure?

3rd I Media LLC — Independent publishing consultancy, video and photo production, web platform management. Graduated publishing services for independent authors. Get a publishing imprint as well as professional editing, graphics work, formatting work for print and eBooks.

Indie Book Lounge — Great site with a comprehensive collection of indie books of all genres.

A Blue Million Books — A book blog maintained by author Amy Metz.  Active, comprehensive, with a great listing of other marketing resources for indie authors.

Book Likes — (and here’s my own AUTHOR PAGE) Book Likes is a great site, a community really, similar to Goodreads, in which readers can talk about, rate, review, books and authors they like and follow.  It’s quickly growing, and has a devoted following similar, also, to Goodreads.  They’re based in Europe, so the feel (and reach) is a little different.

Doodles, Doodles, Everywhere — Ok, admittedly funny name, but an excellent, actively maintained blog on a variety of topics including literature, art, architecture, graphic design and so on.  The site is maintained by Aparna Singh out of New Delhi.

Bob’s Writing and Bobbing Around — Both sites are maintained by Dr. Bob Rich, a retired psychologist (among many other former professions), out of Australia.  Bob is an accomplished author himself, and writes and reviews works with an “environmental and/or humanitarian message.”  Bob also blogs about many other topics within this framework.

Limelight Literature — Great, free promotional site for Indie authors run by Welsh writer L E Fitzpatrick.

The Reading Cafe — An active, diverse, and comprehensive book blog.

Lost in a Good Book — An excellent, well-written, active book blog.

There and Their — A great book blog maintained by Dhwani Swadia, who also provides professional editing and other services to independent authors.
